In general, I haven’t had too many problems with being gay in high school. Yes, I’ve had some people who call me out on it or think it’s weird and whatnot but it certainly doesn’t happen every day or enough to really bother me. In fact, I think there have really only been 3 or 4 cases but my friends were always there to back me up.
Now that I’m going to college and looking for a roommate, it seems to be much more of an issue. I can understand why another guy might be uncomfortable rooming with a gay guy but I think there is something really flawed when people specifically say they do not want a gay roommate. If you’re straight, I get it, you don’t want to go out with me. Fine. It’s done. Whatever. Don’t even think about it. I’m not gonna be sneaking peeks all the time or trying to make a pass at you. All we’re going to do is share a room. I’m still an awesome person, I would just rather date a guy than a girl. There’s nothing more to it.
